Off the wall, crazy, vinyl collector, sun addicted, never sleeping, competitive athlete and workaholic, passionately in love with music, that's Mark Brain.
There is no other artist who dedicates his life to the music with such enthusiasm, intensity and passion like Mark Brain. With light velocity Mark races through his 7-day week as a DJ and producer of electronic music. He works up to 18 hours per day in the manner of a perfectionist.
Mark is not just a DJ! He is the off roader who has presented music since 1994 when it still meant craftsmanship - spinning with turntables - and when there were no sync-functions. First and foremost, he considers himself a DJ, only afterwards a music producer. And that is very important for him, as up to the present he has been booked exclusively because he knows his job. This has got him and his music from South Africa to South Korea almost all over the globe. Mark has played on raves in a quarry, in an empty pool, in trains or on trucks, even in the Red Town Hall of Berlin. He very much differs from his colleagues in that he himself keeps volubly joining in the party, which is something that the lovers of his music appreciate greatly.
When he is not presenting music, he is, e.g., being invited by German starred chef Ralf Zacherl into his television show, addressing a conference on music such as the 5th Musicological Conference in Nicosia on Cyprus, or writing as co-author in the role of a DJ on the topic »Always Sleeping Well«.
His music productions have a special character and can be found, like, e.g., »Los Niños del parque« and »Datacity«, on the playlists of DJs worldwide. When he started releasing electronic music on Alphabet City Records in 2001, Mark is now artist on record labels like Roar Recordings.
It meant ultimate praise, indeed, when Mark became the only outside producer to be included in his best-off album by none less than Harold Faltermeyer, the US producer of film music (Axel F, Beverly Hills Cop, Running Man, Top Gun Theme). A further highly memorable event was when - being the very competitive athlete he is - Mark managed his longest set of ten hours and twenty minutes at the turntables. Even before its digitization was completed, Mark’s distinctive music was licensed by labels from Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and the USA.
Mark: not just a DJ but a genuine person, with comprehensive experience and a history of his own, someone who, after all, takes the term »party« still seriously. |
